A piece of history. One of the most icon painting in Dutch history made by Johannes Vermeer estimated around 1658. For this painting Vermeer used the expensive natural ultramarine blue pigment (made from crushed lapis lazuli) where other painters typically used the much cheaper azurite.

This new design was made using the original scans of Vermeers painting made available by Rijksstudio, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam in a technique developed by Ruben de Haas in 2020 on his iPad.

Is has been presented at various design fairs including the Milan Design Week and Glue Festival. The Queen of the Netherlands made a person view the design and meet the designer in Italy.

The Mixing Pixels of Vermeer is available in four unique sizes. Printed by Moooi Carpets on a Low Pile Polyamide with a red felt backing and black edge finishing including the Moooi Carpets label as well as the name of the designer.

A wool version is also available, inquiries please email 1234@ruben.store
